What Causes Sharp Pain In The Leg After An Injury?

5 days ago I suffered a hard blow to the back of my thigh. The cruise is now about 8 ×8 , is a dark purple color, and has about a 3 inch long knot in the center. I have a dull pain radiating down the front of my leg to my foot and upwards towards my buttocks. I have a sharp pain radiating down the back of my leg to my knee. I don t want to make a trip to my doctor and look like a fool simply because I have a bruise.
