Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sharp Pain In The Leg After An Injury?
I landed on my knee hard after jumping from a balcony onto a trampoline. It doesn t bother me until I crouch down or back up and then there is a sharp pain and my leg gives out. It also hurts when I bike. Other than that it is fine. What do you think I should do?
This looks like Ligament injury. An MRI knee is suggested. Due to the jump the ligament has got injured and inflamed which is leading to the symptoms.
I will advise for MRI knee. Mean time stabilize the knee in crepe bandage or knee brace, do hot water fermentation, exercises like - static hamstring, static Quadriceps, knee to chest, straight leg raise, ankle toe movements. This will help improve the muscle strength and improve the joint space too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
