What Causes Sharp Pain In The Right Ankle For A 75-year-old?

Hi, I am a 75 year old female with much arthritis and a replaced hip so far. Strive to stay active. Use a walking tape in the am and walk 1-2 miles this way at home. Recently noticed a sharp pain in the right ankle occasionally on the right side. Bone densities have been excellent so far. Should I call my doc.
