What Causes Sharp Pain In The Right Side Of The Ribs?
I had an appendectomy on Oct. 11, 2016. Today I have been plagued with a sharp stabbing pain on my right side right where the ribs start. It is too high to be from the surgery, I think. It is really bad when I take a deep breath. I probably should tell you that I had a ruptured appendix at the end of July and didn t seek a dr. for 9 days. I was hospitalized for 6 days on antibiotics,which seemed to clear up the infection in my abdomen.

I don't think this is related to an appendectomy. I think it is related to the gallbladder.
Probably you are suffering from gallbladder stones or infection. You need to do an abdominal ultrasound and liver chemistry to get checked for it.
