Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 62 year old female. I have been experiencing sharp pain in my right upper thigh just at the point where the leg bends at the hip. I have not suffered an injury, but do have a history of degenerative disc disease. It is painful to walk sometimes as I get sharp pain, but not all the time.
Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve. The degenerative disc disease, could also be related to this clinical scenario.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and a nerve conduction study. A lumbar spine CT scan or MRI may be needed in case discal herniation is suspected.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
