What Causes Sharp Pain In The Side In Supine Position?

I have a pain on my right side that does not hurt when standing, only sitting or laying on my right. No other symptoms, fever urine problems etc. it s a sharp pain, but pressing in that area does not make it hurt worse. Any ideas? YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

The location and movement of a pain gives clues as to what is going on. Specifically in this instance the question is if the pain is with touching the surface or deeper in and these would be quite different.

With pain on the outside (more common) then local pulled muscle or a local irritated nerve would be some possibilities. With deeper in, then usually standing makes it worse and it is difficult to know what would be deeper in and cause pain with lying down.
