Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. Sorry to bother u. I have started have sharp pains in my stomach three days ago. Food and drink and an empty stomach bring it on and it lasts up hrs. It is not in my intestine area - I m aware of that pain, I have lost thirteen feet of my small intestine and my colon ten yrs ago. This is new and a different pain. I m thinking fall bladder or ulcer. Not sure if can wait and it will subside or if as dangerous as when my intestines nailed in a ball and temp killed me?
I would recommend you to take Omeprazole and eat and drink frequent small amounts of food and water. Make sure you avoid fatty, fried, spicy or junk food but have fruit and vegetables that do not irritate your stomach, toast, etc. Coffee, smoking (even passive smoking), alcohol may make the pain worse so it is best to be avoided.
If you are not better with these in 4-5 days or if you notice any new symptoms or worsening please talk to your doctor. Abdominal ultrasound and possibly an upper endoscopic examination may be needed in this case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
