Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have been having a sharp pain on the right side of my throat. like a needle is going though it. then i end up coughing so much that i either almost vomit or do vomit. i have had this pain for a few months now. its not constant. happens at least 4 times a week. sometimes more. and sometimes even twice in one day. it happens at all hours when it decides to strike. then i feel something like puss in the back of my throat during and after it happens. nothing is swollen. no fevers. what could it be?
You could have a infection in throat.
I would advise you to do a throat swab.
You can gargle with warm water mixed with salt.
If any bacteria found in swab then antibiotics needs to be given.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
