What Causes Sharp Pain In The Uterus Area Along With Irregular Periods?

Im 26, 5 foot 4 inches, 160 lbs and have had no previous medical history for problems. The last 4 days I have been experiencing a constant dull ache in my lower right abdomen (uterus area) and it comes and goes with a mild sharp pain enough for me stop whatever Im doing and hold my side. I did a pregnancy test last month and today that was negative, as I am not on birth control meds, I have for the last 3 months have had an irregular periods that were spotty, light, and shorter. It is two weeks until my next one, I have had no other signs or symptoms of pregnancy so Im not convinced that is what it is. What could it be

Hello
As you mentioned that there is sharp pain on the right side ( lower abdomen ) .
You are also having irregular , light , spotty period for last 3 months .
Now also irregular period ( 15 days before period date ) .
All these symptoms ( you are is just 26 years ) may be due to these possibilities .
1 Poly Cystic Ovarian disease ,as this may be the most common cause of such symptoms , so please get in ultrasound of both ovaries for confirmation , so consult a gynecologist and get his opinion.
2 Hormonal imbalance causes some times this type of pain and bleeding so get in FSH/LH tests .
However , there are so many other reasons of such pain as right renal calculus , appendicitis ( chronic ), salpingitis but in your case most probable reason may be PCOD .
So first rule out this and consult a gynecologist .
