Hi,
There can be various reasons for pain upper abdomen. It can be due to gastritis or reflux or
peptic ulcer.
The symptoms can be associated with oily spicy food, excess of tea or coffee or smoking.
Sometimes bacterial infections like h pylori can cause pain and nausea. Even stress and anxiety can also lead to such symptoms.
Besides it can be due to problems related to diseases of pancreas or intestines (infection or inflammation), or
muscle strain. We also need to rule out problems related to heart, lungs or spleen.
Diarrhea if present points more towards
indigestion or intestinal or gastric infection.
So I feel that first of all focus on your diet.Eat plenty of fruits and vegetable. Avoid excess of tea, coffee, oily and spicy food.Take plenty of fluids and small frequent meals. Maintain proper posture especially while sleeping or working on compute.
Also if still your symptoms persist then go for some investigations like
complete blood count,FBS,stool examination, tsh,Ecg, chest xray and
ultrasound abdomen. This will give you a proper diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
