What Causes Sharp Pain On The Left Nipple?

I am experiencing a sharp needle like pain in/on my left nipple that comes and goes. I am a male. Dont usually have these occurrences, but this evening its been coming and going mutiple times. Also, I m almost positive its not a surface thing. There s nothing to indicate that its just friction from a t shirt or something. Thanks in advance, Jamie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Superficial inflammation or infection can be possible from mentioned history.

You have to do further work up in form of USG scan. The local examination also needs to be done.

According to cause specific treatment given.

If the infection is present than topical antibiotic cream can be applied over that.

I suggest you consult a nearby physician for detailed examination or else you can post a photo of the lesion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
