General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain may be due to neuropathy which is abnormal function of the nerves. It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes.

Some of the more common causes are: (1) low levels of vitamin b12 or folate
(2)diabetes
(3)trauma to the nerves
(4)thyroid disease
(5)side effect of medication
(6)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(7)autoimmune diseases such as lupus, ra, temporal arteritis
(8)liver or kidney disease

In some cases, the cause is not known. It would best to see your doctor for an assessment if the symptoms continue.

I hope this helps
