Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
the last several days I have had sharp pain under the right rib cage when taking deep breaths, sleeping on my left side and during certain sudden movements. I have also experienced excessive belching which seems to have subsided but the pain persists. The pain when lying down or breathing deeply is the most uncomfortable.
The pain you are experiencing is due to muscular strain. Typically it is worse with movement and deep breaths and lying down. You should take Ibuprofen and paracetamol.
If you do not notice any improvement of the pain in 2-3 days of using this treatment or you notice any worsening of the pain or any new symptoms (cough, fever, fatigue, etc) then you will need to see a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
General & Family Physician
