What Causes Sharp Pains In Left Foot Radiating Towards Ankle?

I have been having shooting pains in my left foot on the outside from my toe to my ankle since yesterday afternoon it only happens when I walk and it seems to be inconsistent and only when I step on that foot a certain way. I was just wondering if this is serious or if it will stop on it s own with rest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

I cannot be sure as only a more close physical examination would help predict that, but an X-ray of the region along with a blood panel with parameters like CRP, RA factor, serum uric acid, etc; will help determine the cause. Please visit a doctor or a diagnostic centre and get these tests done and write back to me for an interpretation.

Best wishes.
