What Causes Sharp Right Sided Groin Pain Radiating Towards Testicle?
Dr. Rynne, I have recently (last few months) noticed a sharp, unexpected and piercing pain in my right groin area that seems to have no definitive origin yet extends from the inside of my right thigh and extends to the right side of my testicle. It is intermittent; not brought on by anything other than some movement or twist when I am walking or standing. I have had no known injury; I do not do heavy lifting (I have ruled out hernia); it does not prevent me from my daily activities yet when it strikes, the pain is palpable and I find myself putting pressure in this groin area. Ron
A radiating pain from groin to testicle without history of injury or weight lifting indicates possible issue of referred pain from stone or calculus in the urinary system most likely ureter. Kindly get a physician evaluation and discuss the need of an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis for further management guidelines. Till that time, plenty of liquids intake would help the system to flush out underlying gravels in ureter.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
