Hello,
Sharp pain in the feet radiating to the toes is indicative of compression of the nerve due to medical conditions like
peripheral neuropathy,
nerve compression syndrome,
plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, wear and tear due to ageing, etc. You are suggested to loose weight if obese. Control blood glucose level if diabetic as it may make symptoms worse. Wear soft pads or insoles or forefoot cushion sleeves for relief. NSAIDS, cortico-steroids and radio-frequency ablation effectively bring relieve.
Wear comfortable footwear, avoid standing for a longer time. You should get clinically examined by a podiatrist to detect metatarsalgia, nerve compression, peripheral neuropathy, etc. The podiatrist may help to give shoes with
arch support and foot pads to reduce the pain. You will have to get blood tests, X-ray, USG, MRI for detailed study and treatment started. If response is not good you may be recommended surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
