Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your husband symptom of a sharp shotting pain in the ear following removal of a tumor I am suggesting a possibility of a relapse of the cancer

In view of this please the following test
CT scan
Ear swab for culture
Blood culture

Meanwhile please let him see an ENT as specialist with the results for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription though you can take some analgesic pending your appointment
.
I hope this helps Regards
