What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain Below Navel And Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?
hi im 16 weeks pregnant and experiencing sharp stabbing pains below my bellybutton, I ve had growing pains before but not like this, it s on and off but I have had almost doubled vaginal discharge, lower back pain and fluid build up and it hurts when I urinate
As per my clinical experience, the combination of symptoms of navel pain, vaginal discharge of raised amount indicates pelvic inflammatory disease most likely via common urinary pathogens as E.coli or others.
Following are best measures to deal with the diagnostic approach: - Urine microscopy - Urine culture and sensitivity - Vaginal discharge wet mount preparation - Vaginal discharge culture testing - STD testing - HIV if not done during first trimester or history of multiple sex partners - Changes in vaginal flora or urinary pH - Low immunity status - Loop in vaginal hygiene care
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
