Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can I get shingles on my ankle? I had them 6 weeks ago and started on the anti-viral Rx right. The case was mild. I had them once before in 2005, als took Rx and had only three blisters. I am 65 and in good health. Started itching a day or so ago. Thought it was dry skin or reaction to detergent. However, it seems to be spreading.
It is less likely to have shingles twice in such a short period of time. It could be an allergic reaction. Anyway, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
