What Causes Shingles On Torso And Back Despite Using Lyrica And Gabapentin?
I have had pain & intermittent rash from shingles for over 1 year now. Pain is stabbing itching & burning on right side torso front & back. I have tried Lyrica, Gabapentin & other meds w/ no relief. I have also seen Pain specialist & had 3 shots in my back w/ no relief. I tried 4 months of Accupuncture w/ no relief.Any suggestions?
Hi, Shingles which is also known as herpes zoster involving uniformly in one half of the body. It is caused by varicella zoster virus. It may be due to reactivation of chicken pox virus with minimal effect. The symptoms are rash and pain due to nerve involvement. It is called as neuropathic pain. Since you have tried all the pain relieving measures individually without any positive outcome, I suggest you to have combination therapy such as medication, invasive pain relieving patches, physical therapy and relief therapy which may have effects. Just I want to know about general condition and age. Are you suffered from any chronic illness, hypertension or diabetes? Because those information may help me give clear beneficial ideas better. Hope your symptoms will relieve soon.
