Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has an unexplained rash all over his body apart from his face and is waiting to see a Dermatologist. However, although his skin is very dry it is very hot to the touch but he says that he is shivering inside and even though the weather is quite warm he needs a blanket sometimes two. What is causing this problem.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A rash which feels hot to touch on body along with shivering suggests an infection most probably a bacterial infection. The rash is probably infected which makes it hot to touch. Associated fever can be due to sepsis due bacterial infection which has spread in the blood. I suggest you to consult your doctor for clinical assessment and prompt management. In the meanwhile maintain hydration of the patient by giving enough fluids as fluid is being lost due to hot rash and shivering.
HI Well come to HCM the chances of urticarial rash very likely and if I would be his doctor then I would treat him with the following medicines 1) Tab Acetaminophen SOS 2) Tab Levocetrizine 10 mg three times in day, Acetaminophen can be given in fever, hope this helps
