What Causes Shivering In Hands With Sleeping Problems?

Hi Doctor,



I have been noticing from last two weeks that there is slight shivering in my hands(both hands). it's not vibrant but i can feel it that they are shivering more than normal. i have started more beers and cigaretes now on weekends. but its not more than two beers on weekends. as i used to drink and smoke in college days but its a past nw as there was a cessation for 1 year when i passed out and then started working. i hav not taken drugs. and i don't usually sleep properly during sleep hrs. pls guide on this.

Tremors are caused by problems with the nerves supplying certain muscles. They may affect the whole body or just certain areas, as with hand tremor.
Types of tremors include:
Drug-induced tremor (tremors caused by certain drugs),Essential tremor (no known cause),Familial tremor (runs in families),
Other causes of tremors may include:
Alcohol withdrawal,Cigarette smoking,Hyperthyroidism,Parkinson's disease,Pheochromocytoma,Too much caffeine,Use of certain medications,Wilson's disease
All people have some tremor when they move their hands. Stress, fatigue, anger, fear, caffeine, and cigarettes may temporarily worsen this type of tremor. My advise you to book appointment with your primary Physician/ Family Physician.
