What Causes Shooting Pain And Tenderness Of Skin On Hurt Forearm?

I feel down the stairs several days ago and bashed my forearm just below my elbow coming down. It's currently quite paint full and every so often I feel a shooting pain. I can't lye on it or put too much pressure on it. It hasn't bruised yet but I also don't bruise very easily. The pain has woke me up a few times during the night. The skin is tender around where I hit it and it painful to touch. When I touch where it's tender I feel almost a bump that I'm unable to Find on the other arm. My mom believe that i just bruised the bone which I do very often cause I play sports but this feels different and I was wondering if you could help me out

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have shooting pain and tenderness of skin on hurt forearm. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like brachial plexus injury , bursitis , carpal tunnel syndrome , fibromyalgia , sprains , soft tissue injury , fracture and strains. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination. Doctor may order CT scan ,MRI or physical examination . Doctor may give plaster or prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and physical therapy . For now keep your arm stable , do not move your arm , apply cold compresses for first 48 hours and then warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
