What Causes Shooting Pain In Vagina During 31st Week Of Pregnancy?
hi ya, i m 31 weeks pregnant and recently started getting the occasional shooting pain in my vagina. it only lasts a few seconds but painful still ! I have also noticed that while i m getting these pains after going to the toilet and wiping myself my vagina feels like it is bulging slightly as if i m swollen or babys pushing down on me, once pains go so does the bulging ! Shell
So your instinct about the baby pushing your vagina is correct... The baby can punch or kick you from inside depending on the way it faces, and that will produce a sharp sudden pain! If you experience regular cramping like a period that lasts more than 2 hours, or any vaginal bleeding or leaking fluid, those can be signs of premature labor and your should seek medical care for evaluation. Your OB provider can do a pelvic exam and feel what part of the baby is pushing you. Otherwise, be prepared! The baby is getting stronger and you may feel pains like this in other areas of your belly, which is not unusual.
I hope this was reassuring and good luck with your pregnancy! Take care.
