What Causes Short Term Memory Loss While Having Dementia?
My mom has dementia, she lives in a memory care unit, her short term memory is really short and we just found out that she has been incontinant for a while now. Can you give me an idea about how much longer she will be this way? I guess I am asking really how much longer she will live.
Old age dementia is generally accompanied by memory loss as well. It is difficult to predict the outcome and consequences of the condition based on the symptom of memory loss.
There are several micro-nutrient supplements and medications which can be given to prevent the progress of dementia and prevent the deterioration of memory loss.
Kindly consult Neurologist in this regards for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
