What Causes Shortness Of Breath After Insertion Of Cardiac Stents?
I had two heart stents put in in October after a heart attack. I was put on Brilinta and after about 2 1/2 months I began to have shortness of breath upon a little exertion. My dr. switched me to plavix about two weeks ago but I still have the shortness of breath which may be 10% better. Does this sound normal and how long before the side effects go away.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You may be suffering from cardiac failure or angina or out let obstruction etc. What is your cardiac 2d echo report says? What is your cholesterol level or what about hypertension is it under control? Are you diabetic? Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your cardiologist he will advise which regular activities you can perform with out dyspnea and treat you accordingly. Take care.
