What Causes Shortness Of Breath After Insertion Of Stents In The Heart?
a friend of mine had 2 sents put in last week . He is 75 years old and has 5 stents previously. he was taking brilinta 90mg but he stopped due to excessive bleeding. he is also onenoxaparin sodium injection 80 mg twice a day in his belly one in morning on one side and one in evening on other side. he has slight shortness of breath.
hi and very pleased to answer you The dyspnea (shortness of breath) reported by your friend is related the use of brilinta 90mg (TICAGRELOR a potent oral inhibitor of platelet activity). Dyspnea has been reported in patients treated with ticagrelor. Dyspnea are generally mild to moderate in intensity and often resolve without the need to discontinue treatment. Patients with asthma / chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may have an increased absolute risk of dyspnea under ticagrelor. Ticagrelor should be used with caution in patients with a history of asthma and / or COPD. The mechanism has not been elucidated. If a patient develops a new, prolonged or aggravated dyspnea, a complete exploration is necessary and if this is poorly tolerated, treatment with ticagrelor should be discontinued. shortness of breath disappears in the majority of cases during the first week of treatment. best wishes
