After walking 20 to 50 feet approximately, I get shortness of breath. After sitting for a few seconds I can go again for short distance. My feet are also swelling. I have been battling a respiratory flu for few weeks. My doctor has me on antibodic and inhaltor. I do not have a temperature and blood pressure is good.

I think you might be in cardiac failure since you say you have shortness of breath and edema of the legs it indicates early stages of right heart failure, if it's treated with frusemide then the edema disappears and your heart will function optimally which will increase your exercise tolerance and you will not get breathless soon. hope this info helps you happy health.
