Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have echocardiogram as soon as possible to look for any signs of heart failure.

Also, Lyme's disease and history of smoking both can contribute towards heart-related complications. EKG to look for any signs of heart block or arrhythmia etc may be needed.

If these are unremarkable local examination, uric acid levels, renal and liver function tests as well as albumin levels in blood and urine may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
