What Causes Shortness Of Breath And High BP?

I have been having shortness of breath for a couple of months now. I have been to the Mayo clinic and am scheduled to return this next week. It seems to get worse when I move around now and also when I eat. Today I was on the treadmill and barely made 0.50 mile and still couldn t get my breath and my BP was 155/88. I have always been a 110/70 girl (give or take a little). Why?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I can think of breathlessness due to asthma or bronchitis with high blood pressure or coronary heart disease likely to be your symptoms with just borderline high BP. Please consult a physician for specific advice after detailed physical examination.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
