What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Nausea?

I have shortness of breath, feels like I am using less than 1/2 my lungs. I I had an x-ray and showed nothing. This is the second time the first time it lasted for months then prednisone took it away for a month and it's back. The reality is I also occasionally get nauseous and have hot flashes

You are having shortness of breath ...Basically according to history it seems to be airflow limitation...
Mild allergic asthma like condition or early COPD might not show significant change in X ray...
Here you needs to do your physical examination first ...

The auscultation should be done to look for if any rhonchi , rales heard and than subsequent work up done..
The pulmonary function test will be beneficial in your case ...
According to cause further treatment decided ..Like if bronchoconstriction present than inhalation with bronchodilator useful...

Smoking history also should be taken...
