What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Pressure On The Rib Cage After Having Abdominal Myomectomy?
I just underwent abdominal myomectomy for removal of fibroids 8 days ago. When I stand or sit I have shortness of breath and feel pressure right at the at point where my rib cage meets. When I lie down I feel fine. I have night sweats ( only at night and I read this could be because I am still eliminating the intravenous fluids) Otherwise I feel fine. I feel no pain at my incision and I am not taking any pain medication. Thank you
Hi.. I understand your concerns. There is nothing to worry. You are using pain killer and feeling no pain, but still incision and wound cant bear pressure of your abdominal contents when you stands up, thats why through in anvoluntry pathway your respiration becomes becomes shallow and rapid.thats why you feel shortness of breath. Nights sweat is probably because of NSAIDS(painkillers). These symptoms will fade away within few days. Wish you good health.
