What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Shallow Breathing?
I was in the Rocky Mountains skiing & experienced a shortness of breath & shallow breathing. I attributed it to the altitude. Now, I'm back home. I have a "pressure" or heaviness in my chest & trouble or shortness of breath. I no longer have a cough but my sinuses are "stuffed". My cough was severe but never spit up blood. I am 51 years old, great cardiovascular shape, healthy diet and low cholesterol. I am currently taking 75 mg of Cymbalta & 10 mg of Lexapro for primary depression. This is NOT new.
HI Well come to HCM While climbing the mountain such shortness of breath is common due to low oxygen tension if it is really on high altitude if this is not so then cause of shortness of breath need to rule out for low hemoglobin and cardiac disease and for this better get done the Hemoglobin test and, EKG, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
