What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Tiredness While Suffering From Lupus?
My partner has Lupus. He is constantly very short of breath, and very tired. He has seen a lung specialist, heart specialist, rheumatologist, but does not seem to be getting any answers. His only medication is Plaquinol for the Lupus. He is 76. Do you have any suggestions? Jan
Hello and welcome to HCM, Lupus erythematosus is a multi-system disorder which can involve large number on organs at one time. Pleural inflammation and pleural effusion can occur in the course of lupus erythematosus. However, a clinical assessment by a pulmonologist is required for clinical assessment and to look for any other cause for shortness of breath. Treatment of lupus eryhtematosus will help to treat the shortness of breath in case it is due to lupus.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
