What Causes Shortness Of Breath And Weakness In Legs With Mild Activities?

I am having severe breathing problems any time I do a small activity..dressing, picking up a 12 lb dog, walking to the mail box which has a small incline. Getting in and out of my car, bending over to move something small, I can walk slow on very flat service. Also I have weakening of upper and lower legs. No swelling.I have had cancer, 3 heart surgeries, pacemaker, defibrillator and MVP. I am 73 and have been very active all my life. Aneurysm in my aorta. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are noticing worsening shortness of breath then you should be assessed as soon as possible particularly since you have a history of heart surgeries, pacemaker and defibrillator.

It is possible that the increasing shortness may indicate a change in your heart function.

The weakness can occur as a result of this change in heart activity.

You may need cardiac investigations such as echo and ecg.

I hope this helps
