Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a shortness of breathe w/ wheezing when I walk any distance it s worse when I step outside in the cold . I have used an inhaler and a doxycycline hyclate but the problem is still present this was back in November so should I now try Mucinex chest congestion for some relief I have no cough just and only when I walk it is now to the point I can t rest at night without having to sit up to get relief to breathe or prop myself on pillows to try and breathe.
I read your query and I understand your concern. You are suffering from bronchial asthma. The antibiotic Doxycycline don't help and neither does Mucinex. Try to use inhaled corticosteroids, long-acting bronchodilators (beta-agonists and anti-cholinergics), theophylline. Relief medications include short-acting bronchodilators, systemic corticosteroid and a Ipratropium.
Hope my answer was helpful. If yes, vote helpful.
Take care
