What Causes Shortness Of Breath, Fatigue And Spots In Vision After Smoking Methamphetamine?

Yesterday and today I smoked meth, and drank meth bong water. About half a cup. And I was smoking it all night until 8am. On my way home, started to get shortness of breath, seeing spots and then it went away by the time I traveled on the transit bus. About half an ride. I get home and tried to brush my teeth because I have dry mouth. After I finish, I started gagging on the toothpaste and I threw up a couple times, my arms feel weak and heavy and im dizzy, my hands and feet are sweaty. And the back of my head hurts like a headache, and I can t stand up without getting dizzy so I m drinking water in my room, laying down and not really moving around. I also take anti depressant and I m having a really bad trip. I ate a banana and haven t thrown up since. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The short breath is due to bronchi constriction via effects of methamphetamine and the spots in vision are due to changes in size of pupil with blurring of vision secondary to meth effects on sphincter pupillae and muscles of accommodation which is ciliary muscle. I would recommend to drink plenty of liquids to flush out the system from residual metabolites of meth at the earliest possible time and recover in smooth way. If the same symptoms persists beyond a period of 4-6 hours, I recommend to consult ER immediately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
