Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 83 year old father experienced shortness of breath. He went to the hospital and they have released him after a week s stay and he has a full time Oxygen tube. My Dad lives in another state and I believe has not told me everything that he and his Dr discussedd. What may be going on?
Based on these few details the cause of his shortness of breath can't be determinated, because there are a lot of medical conditions that can cause breathing problems.
If he's only in oxygen tube and doesn't take other medications or has been heavy smoker or exposed to air pollution I think he has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
All the best!
