General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You will need to examine your lungs by having at least a chest x-ray and spirometry. These will rule out problems that smoking may cause in the lungs.
It is best for your health to quit smoking as medications may give temporary relief as it is happening with your sinuses but smoking can permanently harm your lungs and may cause serious conditions.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
