What Causes Shortness Of Breath On Exertion And Fatigue In An Elderly?
Hi. I am asking for my mother. She is 89 and in good health. However she has lately been having shortness of breath on exertion, and fatigue. She has had a lung X-ray, and an echo and a stress test. Heart and lung appear ok (for an 89 year old). We are all stumped. Any other suggestions? Oh, and she is not anemic although she is on medication for polycythemia Vera. Thanks!

with these age breathlessness on exertion occurs and since she has polycythemia the thick blood may be the cause of her breathlessness see for any jak2 mutation in your report or serum epo level if raised then drug dosage should be reviewed
