What Causes Shortness Of Breath & Rapid Heart Rate?
i had an echo done and my ejection fraction was 53. my dr prescribed me lacix, but i am still experiencing some shortness of breath and feels like my heart is racing. I am 37 yr old female, non smoker, 216 lbs. I do have severe anxiety. This complaints is what prompted me to seek medical attention. do i need to go to the emergency room?
hello,I have gone through your query.thanks for HCM. Basically EF of 53% is near normal so less likely to cause shortness of breath.Unless you have associated diastolic dysfunction or hypertension lasix may not be needed in your case.I feel your symptoms are due to anxiety and you should take anxiolytic like Tab.Alprazolam 0.25 mg at bed time.I suggest you to provide me with all your clinical information for proper guidance. My best wishes DR.Rajesh Teli,MD
