What Causes Shortness Of Breath Upon Exertion?

I have used modafinil for many years for tiredness.. I also have shortness of breathe upon exertion. Doctors have not come up with a good reason to date. I do have some lung damage from a chlorine gas leak and only recently found out I have RA and under treatment from Mayo Clinic. Was hospitalized last week with no prognosis yet but doctors still are working on a solution. Has been quite frustrating the last 7years. Have had no strokes or such. Is it possible the modafinil could be the culprit and is being overlooked.??

Hi,

I have seen many cases with similar complaints. As per your history, Please find my advice below:

1) Do full blood count with differential
2) Correct [Iron] level by injectable medications for anemia
3) Do ECG/ECHO & ESR to ruled out cardiac disorders
4) Take [A TO Z tablet]once a day for any dietary deficiency

Take treatment for other diseases as usual Shortness of breath is also a side effect of the medication you are taking. I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
