What Causes Shortness Of Breath Upon Physical Exertion?
I have slight shortness of breath (deep breathing after climbing stairs), and pulse rate climbs higher faster than it used to while I do cross-training cardiovascular exercise. My output on the cross machine is down about 20% from where it was up until several weeks ago.

You have to do the following investigations:
• CBC and Hb estimation
• EKG
• Echocardiography, if needed
• Treadmill testing
• Blood pressure measurement
If anemia or cardiac cause present then treated accordingly. If low HB present then iron tablet prescribed. If LVH like condition present then diuretic can be prescribed. Consult physician or cardiologist for examination and further work-up accordingly.
