What Causes Shortness Of Breath When Suffering From Hypertension?
My husband is 70. Since last 25 yes he is a hypertensive patient but it is controlled with proper medication. All yearly check up followed properly. 3/4days back some shortness of breath takes place. After hospitalisation EF of ecocardiography shows 35% working LV. BP is 160/90. How will it be cured. Cardiologist is seeing him. When a pacemaker is needed? Sp bala
A pace maker is normally used when there is an abnormality in the pulse rate or rhythm that needs to be controlled. If he does have a problem with his pulse then this would be an option that his doctors may consider.
The main aspects of treatment would be controlling any risk factors that would worsen the heart, this means: (1)making sure there is tight control of his blood pressure (2)cholesterol would also need to be controlled (3)if there is a history of diabetes or smoking , these would also need to be addressed (4)a physiotherapist would also show exercises that would be appropriate for him that would help strengthen the heart
I hope this helps

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic A pace maker is normally used when there is an abnormality in the pulse rate or rhythm that needs to be controlled. If he does have a problem with his pulse then this would be an option that his doctors may consider. The reduced ejection fraction (EF) would definitely contribute to the shortness of breath.
