Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I started taking 20 mg of Celexa two weeks ago, and I noticed slight shortness of breath a few days ago, which now seems to be increasing a slight bit every day. Is this going to go away, or should I stop taking the medication? It will take me two weeks to get in to see my GP, but I could go to a walk-in clinic if necessary.
celexa is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor drug and it is an antidepressant drug . it's side effects are drowsiness, nausea , vomiting and diarrhoea . breathlessness is not related to this. I can suggest you to get done chest x ray , ECG , hemogram to ruleout other causes for shortness of breath.
