Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Shortness Of Breath While Suffering From Severe Anxiety?
I find that i catch myself holding my breath while awake. A lot. I m 62 and in good shape but I do have anxiety issues that I treat with Valium. I also have coronary artery disease and am on two statins and one high blood pressure medication. I should have known it was pay for play. Fucking doctors and Big Pharma make too much money, THAT S the reason this country s health care system is so fucked!
Your history mentions of anxiety, coronary artery disease. It is due to that you have breathlessness which is from lack of oxygen or ischaemia.
You need to relax, engage family and friends and avoid living alone. You consult a psychiatrist and report to emergency room so that your concerns can be addressed properly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR, Dentist
