What Causes Shoulder And Neck Pain After Tetanus And Pertussis Vaccination?
I recently had a tetanus shot with pertussis in my left arm. My arm hurt where the shot was given, but now my left shoulder and neck ache. I gave been taking ibuprofen and using ice and heat. This helps done, but the pain is severe at times and makes it difficult to sleep. How long will these symptoms lady?
- avoid weight lifting through the left upper limb or prolong compression during sleep.
So far as neck pain is concerned, it is not a routinely observed issue, however, if you are having the same , just consult your doc in person for further guidelines.

Hello, * The pain at injection site with soreness are normal part of vaccination process. Following measures will help for the control of shoulder and arm discomfort - local application of ice 5 minutes each 4 times a day - intake of analgesic as ibuprofen with paracetamol after meals 3 times a day - local application of hirudoid cream - avoid weight lifting through the left upper limb or prolong compression during sleep. So far as neck pain is concerned, it is not a routinely observed issue, however, if you are having the same , just consult your doc in person for further guidelines. Hope I have answered your query.
