What Causes Shoulder Pain, Headache And Bump On Right Side Of Head?

Hi. I ve been having a headache on my right side for 2-3 weeks on & off and have a small bump on the bottom right side also. I have not hit my head & dont know where the bump comes from. The pain started traveling from the bottom of my head towards the upper part. I also have pain on my right shoulder. What can this be? I went to the school nurse where I work, checked for a red rash (which I dont have). She said to get checked for Shingles regardless. Can it be meningitis or is it just from stress (I havent felt stressed this week)?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have shoulder pain, headache and bump on right side of head . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are due to 'Post-traumatic vertigo' which occur after head injury . Bump on head can occur due to lipoma , osteoma or local infection like folicullitis . As far as shoulder pain is concern this is occurring probably due to some soft tissue injury or in some cases fracture . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for dizzy spells as early as possible , because its being 10 hours you are experiencing such symptoms . Doctor may order CT scan and will examine physically to rule out concussion . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with pain killer and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for ear problem . For mow take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for shoulder pain and apply warm compresses to shoulder . Avoid bending forward and stay calm . Doctor may also recommend surgical removal of bump under local anesthesia.
