What Causes Shoulder Pain While Suffering From Congestive Heart Failure?

My dad was on a cruise and he has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, pneumonia. and kidney issues. He is in a hospital San Fernanado in Panama City. They have him on Lacet, ceflriaxona dextrose and insulin for his diabetes. He is currently having throbbing pain in life shoulder and they are giving him paraconica 100 and paracetamol. They did a EKG and it was normal. What can we expect as time goes on or what regiment should we suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Shoulder pain may be due to diaphragm irritation from pneumonia. Also, it may be due to shoulder pathology.

In such cases, I will suggest x-ray shoulder. For pain, you can take tablet Diclofenac.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
