What Causes Sick Feeling And Breathlessness After Taking Cortisone Shots?
I have had bronchial pneomonia for which antibiotics were prescribed. I was also given a Turbuhaler to use twice a day and cortisone injection. After two weeks of this illness I felt better and had to go for innoculations for a USA visa. Polio, and influenza were injected. I became worse and went back to doctor who presribed a stronger antibiotic and cortisone injection. Two days later I felt very sick and had difficulty breathing. I went to the hospital emergency unit and was put on a cortisone steroid drip and given nose drops, analgesic, cough mixture, cortisone steroid tablets. My cough went from dry to wet and phlem is coming out. I am also experiencing the pins and needles when i cough. Am i healing because its now been four weeks?
Possible bacterial pneumonia super imposed over viral infection is most likely as there is recent history of vaccination with polio and influenza vaccine. Kindly get an X-ray chest and relevant lab reports of total white blood cell count with differential of lymphocytes and polymorphs to conclude further management guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
